Inspirations

“We are the mirror as well as the face in it”

The minute I heard my first love story I started looking for you, not knowing how blind that was. Lovers don’t finally meet somewhere. They’re in each other all along.”

For the last few years, I have been sharing my favorite quotes, plus spiritual insights, to guide you into finding deeper meaning in your own life. You can subscribe to my weekly email or you can bookmark this page and visit as part of your personal spiritual practice.

Why Inspirations?

For years I have found joy and inspiration in discovering unique and meaningful quotes from authors, philosophers, thought leaders or those in the healing arts.

Every email message, or blog post, begins with the quote, followed by a sharing of my own personal memories and life experiences—whatever the quote causes me to remember.

How does this fit with a personal practice?

By ending with a question or two, I encourage readers to mindfully reflect on what the quote brings up for them. In this way, my insights are shared, and then used to help others heal, transform, and grow.

Does it work?

Each week people write to me, thanking me for the insights that emerge.

  • It’s uncanny the way your messages seem to be sent directly to me! I am in the midst of a painful power struggle which got started because of something very stupid that I did (and the other person involved will not let me “undo” it!) Anyway, the pit in my stomach just gets more painful, not less! So I am going to try to withdraw my energy from the struggle as you suggest. Thank you so much for your inspirational quotes, Laura!
  • Brilliant, Laura! Thank you for the gentle reminder that we are not the sum total of our looks + possessions + achievements+ bank statements. Kindness is all that matters.
  • Read your thoughts today and they are very, very close to what I have been verbalizing this week!!! Amazing!
  • Well, look who’s writing just for me today! I think about your text and I giggle to myself.  You have such a great sense of humor.
  • I enjoy all of your quotes and blogs, but this one really hits home.People don’t want to let go of the past or change their attitudes or habits to handle the changes in their lives. “ Change is inevitable, but Growth is optional.” If we hold on to what we think we need, we lose out on the chance to grow. Thanks for all the good things you share.
