INSPIRATIONAL QUOTE FROM LAURA for January 24, 2017

Dharmic living is being your own Divine One.

“Underneath all the professions and job descriptions, our vocation is to embody our authentic self, and then to live that self in the world. In this way, our vocation–our call–is to find what we love and to love what we do.”

My Thoughts:
After my 67 years of living on this planet you’d think I should  have a solid grip on what I am here to BE, to DO and living my authentic self. But NO! I feel that I am still not crystal clear on this…and that there is yet something more waiting for me to discover, touch and embrace which is “Laura’s Ultimate True Calling”.

Since my month in India last year I’ve become more schooled in the Vedic and yoga traditions. You may already know about “dharma”, which is considered to be one’s highest purpose for living…. who, what and why we are here on earth. We learn that dharma influences our right relationship with God, with our self, with other beings, and also with this earth and the cosmos. Living one’s dharma is about having a call to a spiritual awakening and finding our place in This Thing called Life.

What I’ve more recently learned, despite the long 67 years, is that it was possible for me to succeed and prosper, but true and deep fulfillment had escaped me. This is why I am still on a journey to really know for certain what makes my heart sing with joy, and this “thing” within me continually calls to be expressed in the world.

Quite frankly, it actually gives me excitement to be following the most golden of my life threads to where they will lead in the search for my divine expression. Which of the threads has been and still is the most persistent over time in my life? I’m determined to discover THAT.  And how about you? Do you know your dharma yet?

There will be more posts on this “dharma thread”, so stay with me on this……

“It’s called my ‘svadharma‘, that which is uniquely mine to do.”
